FEMA Sets Up Recovery Centers on Maui

They are working together with Small Business Administration.

A Disaster Recovery Center has been set up by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Small Business Administration at the University of Hawaii Maui College in Kahului. The center, which opened Wednesday, will support residents and businesses affected by recent wildfires with a wide range of services.

A number of charitable and nonprofit groups including a group of professional surfers are already on the scene to provide support and aid in recovery efforts.

FEMA stated that there are at least 1,500 residents of Maui who are not accounted for. Officials with Maui County estimate it will take $5.5 billion to rebuild from the Lahaina fire.

The White House stated that President Biden and his wife will travel to Maui on Monday.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Governor Green and Hawaiian officials as they continue to support recovery efforts.
  • For Administrator Criswell as she oversees FEMA assistance to the people of Maui.
  • For the president and first lady as they prepare to tour the devastation.
